Miami Horror were hosted this week in Upnloud's column Indiependance Day! Here you get the english version of the interview they gave us.
- Hello guys! How was your day?
- It involved a lot of sleeping in between NY and Pennsylvania, we are playing Messiah Christian college tonight, which could be interesting.
- For how long has music been a part of your lives? How were your lives before Miami Horror?
- I think for all of us music has always been really important, personally I didn't like music in between the ages of 7-12, probably because as a kid all you hear is lame mainstream pop and that didn't interest me. It was only random old vinyls and tapes that belonged to my parents which i found interesting, such as Prince.
- Which would you consider as the main influence you had during the creation of “Illumination”?

- One of the main creative points of illumination is that the influences came from EVERYWHERE, so many different genre's etc. So there's nothing that can be named in particular. Some of the stylistic influences can be attributed to artists like pink floyd, supertramp and air.
- Where is the most suitable place to grow silver apples and golden pears? Really, how would they taste like?
- Probably the moon, you can't eat them, they are poisonous.
- Each one of your videos is pretty arty. How important is for you the visualization of your music? Which images come to your mind when you write music?
- I wouldnt really they are that arty, but visuals are very important in helping convey the feeling of music. Sometimes images or films(mostly the cinematography) inspires our music. I can't really give any exact examples, its usually the feeling. Originally I was inspired my more colourful disco and 80's type imagery now by more natural colours and dreamier imagery for lack of a better word.
- Let’s say that in a few years from now will come the ultimate peak in your career! How would that be like? Have you ever imagined it?
- I have no idea how that will be, lets just wait and see, we may already be there!
- Which is the best and the worst thing that happened to pop music in the last decade?
- GAGA
- Even though you are regarded as a part of the indie culture/scene you are signed in EMI music. How does this work for you? Were there any compromises you had to make till now? - Not really, we just had to let them push us as hard as they wanted, which can do great things, i guess the flipside is that you appear more commercial. However they still treat us as pretty independent and we are allowed a lot of creativity.
- Which movie (or movies) could be suitable enough to has “Illumination” as its soundtrack?
- I wish i knew the answer to this so i could watch it, i have images in my subconscious that i can almost see. I guess the closest is 70's movie, LOGANS RUN. all the songs would probably fit to one specific point in this film. It was also part of the inspiration for some of them.
